POTTING SOILS
Black Gold Natural & Organic Potting Soil (2 cf)
  • INGREDIENTS: Canadian Sphagnum Peat Moss, Compost, bark, perlite or pumice or cinders. Earthworm castings, and organic fertilizer.
  • Mix is an all-purpose mix recommended for containers and raised beds and ensures good aeration.

  • Sunshine® #3 Natural & Organic the organic grower’s choice for seed propagation. The OMRI Listed® mix has a shorter fiber peat than our other mixes.

  • INGREDIENTS: Canadian Sphagnum peat moss, Coarse perlite, Starter nutrient charge w/ Gypsum, Dolomitic lime, long lasting wetting agent.
  • Soilless mix with high air capacity and fast drainage (good for winter months, water and salt sensitive plants, or where frequent leaching is needed.)

​Vermiculite
  • Vermiculite is the name of a group of hydrated laminar minerals (aluminum-iron magnesium silicates) which look like mica.
  • Will not rot, deteriorate or mold. Non-toxic and sterile.
  • Increases water and nutrient retention. Less aerating than perlite,amendment of choice for water loving plants.
  • Good for germination- Because it is absorptive and spongy it holds water. Good for seedlings that cannot risk drying out. Organic matter can play similar role, but since vermiculite is sterile/inert it cannot cause damping off, fungus and sudden collapse.
